Al cap d'un parell de setmanes ja tenim una bona quantitat de broquilets de Santa Teresa ben vigorosos. Tant petits i ja se'ls nota el seu característic i preciós color lilós a les tiges. Se sentiran a gust al clima desafiant de Sant Hilari Sacalm?

2018 July 29th

Two weeks after being sown and we've got a nice amount of strong Santa Teresa broccoli seedlings. Despite being so small they already show their nice and characteristic purple colour. Will they feel comfortable in the challenging climate of Sant Hilari Sacalm?

Som a mitjan juliol. 2018.

Ens disposem a sembrar llavor de bròquil de Santa Teresa. Aquest lot de llavor ha estat produït per Les Refardes, molt bon referent com a productor de llavor de varietats locals i amb conreu ecològic.
Pretenem cultivar aquests bròquils vora Sant Hilari Sacalm, a les Guilleries. L'escenari: una finca aïllada per espessos boscos d'alzina que faran possible la producció de llavor sense témer al pol·linització creuada amb cols d'altres finques.

2018. It's mid July.

We are going to sow Santa Teresa Broccoli, an old Catalan tradicional broccoli variety characterized by the purple colour of its heads. We will use seed from Les Refardes, a very good Catalan company that produces seeds of local varieties and grows them biologically. We have the intention to grow this broccoli variety near Sant Hilari Sacalm, in the Guilleries region. The stage: a cottage laying isolated being surrounded by thick holm oak tree forests which will enable the production of seed without having to fear the cross pollination from possible cabbage varieties of nearby fields.
